The Weekly Ad paper has become part of the Island’s community life for 21 years and many residents read the paper weekly.

Over the years the paper has supported many businesses and private advertisers, and provided employment for a dedicated team of staff who have remained with the business for many years. In August 2006 the paper was sold to the Isle of Wight County Press Group of Companies as Paul and Angela want to ease back from business life and enjoy at little more leisure time, they are, however, still active members of the team, and will continue supporting the Weekly Ad into the future.

As the internet is growing, and people like to use its resources, it was decided to create and bring this site www.wightads.com for those who like using the internet, while at the same time continue to produce the paper in a printed format for those who prefer the printed article.

There are two sections: 

Private Classified & General Section
Trade & Businesses Classified Adverts Section

The site is unique because the adverts placed in the ‘Private Classified & General Section’ are also printed FREE in the Weekly Ad publication. This section also offers ‘Free Classifieds (up to 15 Words)’ with the option to add more words, pictures and enhancements.

The ‘Trade & Businesses Classified Adverts Section’, offers a unique opportunity for businesses to have an ‘on-line advert’ as well as being able to ‘book adverts directly into the Weekly Ad publication’ or ‘a combination of both’. These adverts are priced at 15p per word, with the provision to add pictures and a range of enhancements. This section also has automatic expiry/renewal notification for advertisers.
